Researchers can save time and improve accuracy with an automated curriculum vitae (CV) management feature designed specifically for scholars
Showcasing your recent and updated research on your Curriculum Vitae (CV) is essential for researchers competing for grants or considering career moves. Keeping a CV up to date and adjusting it for different needs can be challenging and time consuming. However, letting a CV lapse presents risks: time spent filling in missing information slows responses to new opportunities. Even worse, missing information keeps you from presenting an accurate overview of your activities.
While online CV building tools may deliver a polished look, they don’t address issues of academic accuracy and require time-consuming manual updates.
Evolving CV solution designed for research pros
A variety of technologies are emerging to save researchers time in keeping CVs up-to-date, among them is a new CV management feature in Esploro from Ex Libris, part of Clarivate. This widely used research information management solution now enables researchers to automatically create CVs from their Esploro researcher profiles.
The Esploro CV manager lets researchers:
- Choose from common templates such as Biosketch, Europass or general templates
- Tailor their CV to a specific need, such as a grant application or a new research position, by selecting the profile information they would like to include – personal and professional information, research output, activities, projects, awards, awarded grants, etc.
- Think broadly about what will make their CV stand out by exporting from the profile, rather than writing a CV from scratch
When researchers are happy with their newly created CV, they export it to a Word document.
Helping researchers shine
The new CV management feature is part of Esploro’s mission to help researchers showcase and promote their work. Esploro’s researcher profiles can be created and updated automatically, and researchers can help keep their profiles up to date. Now, CVs can be created from these rich profiles, enabling researchers to focus their time on their scholarly work.
