By Kurt Sanford, Chief Executive Officer, ProQuest
I’m delighted to announce that Ex Libris Group is now officially part of the ProQuest family. Today we begin bringing together the industry’s best talent and resources to build upon and create groundbreaking library services and solutions.
It’s a momentous day for our company and the start of an exciting new era in the development of innovative solutions for libraries and their users. As one company, we can apply an extraordinary array of strengths to enrich the products you know and rely upon. Looking ahead, we’ll use our combined assets, expertise, and creativity to tackle libraries’ most pressing challenges. Our goal is to accelerate the development of products and services that enable libraries to seize the opportunities in emerging technology, content, and user environments.
Our first step is to create a new business unit—Ex Libris, a ProQuest Company—which will manage our discovery, knowledgebase and management solutions including: Alma, Aleph, bX, Intota, Primo, Rosetta, SFX, SIPX, Summon, 360 Link, Voyager and the newly launched Leganto reading-list solution and campusM mobile campus solution. This new unit is being led by Matti Shem Tov. Matti is being supported by an experienced team comprised of both Ex Libris and ProQuest Workflow Solutions management.
We’re bringing together talent, assets, and something just as important: shared dedication to advancing the work of libraries. We will continue to work side-by-side with customers, using your feedback and guidance. We’ll also continue our longstanding commitment to openness and collaborations with other organizations such as OCLC, Google, Gale Cengage Learning, HARRASSOWITZ, and YBP/EBSCO.
We have a lot of exciting work ahead of us. We’re aiming for a seamless transition that yields a future ripe with possibilities. We’ll keep you posted along the way and plan to communicate more information about our new business unit early in the New Year. In the meantime, find us at WeListen@ProQuest.com.
