Implementation Consultant- UK Field Office

Job Description:

The Implementation Consultant will be a member of the EMEA Implementation Services Team for helping customers in Europe to implement Ex Libris products and provide additional professional services. The Implementation Consultant will work with our Unified Resource Management Solution Alma and will be responsible for providing services to customers such as consulting, system analysis and configuration, workshops and implementation assistance, as part of a project team led by an Ex Libris Project Manager. The role requires frequent online communication with the library project team and may include some on-site visits. The position includes ongoing work with different stakeholders within Ex Libris such as Professional Services Teams in other regions, Global Support Teams, Cloud Team or Product Management.  This role will be based either in the UK or Spain, so the ideal candidate must be fluent in English and Spanish.
The work in Professional Services offers the opportunity for international experiences in an interesting and exciting position in the IT industry for the Higher Education market, with wide ranging responsibilities and challenging tasks in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment.

  • Interpret and understand requirements of academic libraries and workflows and translate into Ex Libris solutions
  • Provide guidance, consulting and assistance to customers during the project cycle to ensure a successful implementation
  • Perform Ex Libris product configuration, based on customer’s requirements
  • Analyze and troubleshoot customer issues and requests
  • Train customers in Ex Libris products, web-based or on-site workshops
  • Coordinate extensively with other Ex Libris teams
  • Provide post-implementation consulting services to ensure client satisfaction
  • Use defined procedures and systems to perform and document implementation tasks
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of standard procedures as needed
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, enthusiasm for technical work and solution finding
  • Familiarity with library industry standards as well as with library workflows for different media types (e-resources, print, digital)
  • Awareness of important stakeholders and workflows in the regional library markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several complex tasks concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability in carrying out on-site or web basedtraining sessions and presentations
  • Proactive, well-organized team player with an independent approach to work
  • Ability to learn new information quickly and keep up with rapidly changing products and processes
  • Working knowledge of Ex Libris products very highly valued
  • Readiness to travel
  • Academic degree in Information / Library Science or equivalent work experience
  • At least one year of operational experience in a library or any information services environment
  • Required languages  English and Spanish at a very high level, both written and spoken
  • Additional European languages will be considered as an advantage
