Senior Business Analyst

Job Description:

Leveraging proven experience in business process analysis and problem solving, the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for researching, defining, managing, and supporting solution development projects to solve business problems and create commercially attractive solutions.
The post holder will play a key role in supporting the Product Director in driving enhancements and implementing new solutions as part of the campusM platform. As such, they will be involved in the full development lifecycle for the campusM Mobile App platform.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leads in the analysis of customer/sector business processes, practices, systems and services to identify deficiencies and associated opportunities for campusM-based solutions. To include:
Development of comprehensive GAP analysis
Research into relevant technologies and competitive solutions
Development of high level functional requirements
Development of resource/effort estimations and undertake cost benefit analysis
Development of considered recommendations for consideration by the Product Management

Supports the development of solution and feature designs based on evidence and analysis. To include:
Development of comprehensive user stories outlining the experience from end to end
Development of detailed technical specifications, process flows and wireframes underpinning the solution
Application of critical thinking and problem solving skills to assist in resolving complex technical problems
Supporting the development of evaluation and test plans/scenarios


Provides a key role in implementing newly developed features and solutions with customers. To include:
Providing implementation management support of the new solutions alongside the Professional Services team
Managing customer liaison and communications during implementation
Supporting change management processes in conjunction with customer
Design and development of customer-facing documentation
Design and development of internal documentation to support implementation
Troubleshooting and solution refinement
Supporting internal Quality Assurance processes & customer Acceptance Testing
Development of data analytics and reporting to baseline effectiveness of the solution and its implementation

Leads in the transition of newly developed product features and solutions into standard business practice and portfolio. To include:
Evaluation of developed solutions and implementation practices, with the goal of improving future implementations and rollouts
Refinement of internal and external documentation to reflect lessons learnt
Supporting knowledge transfer to Professional Services and Support teams
Supporting knowledge transfer to Product Marketing teams
Supporting knowledge transfer to Sales teams

Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of the functions and features of campusM, from a technical and client perspective.

Develops and maintains a deep and broad understanding of the global HE sector, of mobile technologies, of system capabilities and of alternative approaches to business solutions.

Works with clients in a proactive manner, offering solutions to problems and continually striving to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their business operation.

Ideal Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related fields.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a business analyst role with proven capacity to undertake the duties outlined above
Higher or Further Education sector systems or business process experience highly beneficial
Comparable success and work experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
Strong, customer focused approach
Self-motivated with the ability to remain productive in a high performing team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences at various levels within the organization.
Proven experience of conducting cost/benefit analysis and developing compelling and detailed business cases that are driven by evidence
Ability to define business requirements and implement business process redesign.
Knowledge or experience in business process mapping and improvement methodologies (familiarity of LEAN or Six Sigma beneficial).
Demonstrated experience writing business/technical requirements, test scripts/scenarios, and training materials.
Proven project management experience (medium to large scale projects), with a track record of delivery to time and quality
Ability to accept and instigate change.
Ability to accept project priorities and prioritize personal work tasks and work independently.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team and project environment.
