台湾2所大学选择 ALEPH 500和Verde

New ALEPH and Verde systems will join SFX and MetaLib to facilitate decision making and cost analysis for collection development

Top Information Technologies Co. Ltd., the exclusive distributor of Ex Libris Group products in Taiwan, is pleased to announce that following an extensive search for a new integrated library system (ILS) to meet the growing requirements of librarians and library users, the libraries of the National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) and the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in Taiwan have chosen the ALEPH® 500 ILS to replace their existing system, as well as the Verde® electronic resource management system.

Dr. Ke, associate director of the NCTU library, commented, “After comparing all of the known products on the market, we selected the ALEPH 500 product and the support offered by Top Information Technologies Library Information Division. This decision was based to a large extent on the reliability of the system and its ability to meet our current and future library requirements. The Top Library Information Division provided a comprehensive plan for migration to ALEPH 500 and for the staff training, which also contributed to our selection.”

“In this project, Top will integrate the libraries’ MetaLib® metasearch system and SFX® link resolver with Verde to achieve powerful workflows that will enable these institutions to streamline processes and track the progress of library workflows. This integration will facilitate decision making and cost analysis for collection development,” noted Jackey Wang, senior technical consultant of the Top Information Technologies Library Information Division.

“NCTU and NTHU are two of the top universities in Taiwan. Both have a very high standard of library operations,” added Vincent Kao, vice president of the Top Information Technologies Library Information Division. “We are very glad to have this opportunity to work with NCTU and NTHU and are confident that the success of this important implementation will be a major milestone for both institutions and for the Top Library Information Division.”

“We are extremely honored that these institutions, on the basis of their successful experience with our products, have chosen to increase the number of Ex Libris systems that run in their libraries,” said Oded Scharfstein, VP Asia Pacific at Ex Libris Group. “With such important Verde adopters in Taiwan, I envision that this implementation will lead to additional Verde sales in this region.”
